Data Sources & Attribution

Primary data source — CricketData.org (CricAPI)

All live scores, fixtures, results, series information and player data displayed on this site come from CricketData.org, fetched server-side through our own proxy and credited on every section as “Data: CricketData.org (delayed)”.

Plan used
Lifetime Free — 100 hits/day, no credit card required (provider's pricing page)
Freshness
Delayed. The provider's pricing page states free data is “a few minutes behind real-time”; its Terms of Use state the lag falls to ~30 seconds with a registered key. We label all data delayed, never real-time.
Terms
cricketdata.org/terms-of-use — the free tier is described there as personal / non-commercial use; commercial use requires purchased credits.
Caching
Responses are cached server-side (15–60 minutes depending on data type) to respect the 100 hits/day quota and the provider's fair-use policy.

Authorised provider linked when data is unavailable

Whenever our feed has no data to show, pages display “Live data currently unavailable” and link to ESPNcricinfo's live scores so visitors can still follow the match from an authorised source.

What is NOT used

Points tables: CricketData's public documentation does not confirm a points-table endpoint, so the standings page loads one only if the feed actually returns it for a series — otherwise it shows the unavailable state. No scores, fixtures, standings or statistics on this site are copied from unofficial sources or entered by hand.

Historical archive — Cricsheet

The historical archive is built from Cricsheet, a free ball-by-ball data project. The data is used under the Open Data Commons Attribution License (ODC-By) — the licence file (LICENSE.txt) ships inside Cricsheet's official download and was read and verified before any data was used. Only precomputed aggregates are published (recent results, top run-scorers and wicket-takers within the downloaded dataset, always labelled with the dataset's exact scope and date range); no raw ball-by-ball files are hosted here. This archive is historical — it is never presented as live data.

Fixtures supplement — TheSportsDB

Team pages may also list upcoming fixtures from TheSportsDB's free database, credited in place as “Data: TheSportsDB”. The free tier has no live scores (those are a Premium feature), so its data is shown as schedule information only. TheSportsDB's free terms do not clearly grant artwork use on a public website, so only text facts (fixtures, team and league names, dates, venues) are used — no logos or artwork. If TheSportsDB has no fixtures listed for a team, the section simply does not appear.

Favourites & filtering

Match filtering and favourites are computed entirely in your browser. Favourites are stored in your device's local storage only (“saved on this device only”) — no account, no server, no tracking.

Research

The choice of provider followed an audit of official documentation only (CricketData, Sportmonks, TheSportsDB, API-Cricket, Roanuz, Entity Sports, Cricsheet), checking each free tier for live-score availability, limits, attribution, caching and commercial-use terms.
